Confession: I SUCK at keeping plants alive. I have now had succulents, cactuses, ferns, and about a dozen orchids at various points in time, and have killed every single one. I now use fake succulents because I got so sick of spending money on new ones all of the time. Worst #plantmom ever.
It's such a shame though, because I love plants (and not the fake kind). Growing up, my mom had a bunch of live plants around the house, plus plenty of landscaping around our front walkway. A little greenery does wonders for livening up a room, and lately people have been taking it up a notch - or three. I see pictures all over Instagram and Pinterest of lush plant displays inside homes, deemed "jungalow" style. I'm excited for the day we have more space and can use the extra square footage to add more plants, although I'm going to need some lessons on how to keep those babies alive.
