This month's store spotlight is for none other than West Elm! I can't remember when I stumbled across this store, but I've kept it in my back pocket ever since as a great option for modern pieces. If I had ungodly amounts of money, I would probably spend a pretty penny here. It is definitely more expensive than many other furniture stores, but most of their designs are timeless and will stay in style for a long time.
Another thing I love about WE is they feature local artists and artisans in their stores, giving small businesses and makers the opportunity to gain exposure for their work. When I was living in KC, I found this amazing moon print, and was then OVER THE MOON when I found out it was made by a artist from the Crossroads District (which just so happened to be my neighborhood). This local approach is pretty rare for major brands and retailers, so I was impressed to see it from West Elm.
Alright, on to the main show. Before you rip apart this room board, let me preface by saying that A) I do not have Photoshop and B) I was in fact sober when I made this. The bedding was just impossible to perfectly overlay on the bed. SUE ME.
As you may have read in my recent post, Minimalist Dream, I have been steering towards a simpler approach to decor, however, that doesn't mean I can't appreciate a bold pop of color! Even with the fuschia abstract art, this board still managed to get J's stamp of approval. The only missing piece is some greenery, but all-in-all I could definitely rest my wary bones here.
