2017 is all about the va-va-velvet. Everywhere I look, I'm seeing luscious, lustrous products - between shoes, clothes, purses, and of course: home decor! Now that Autumn is in full-swing, there isn't a better time to bust out this rich fabric in your own space.
Velvet feels regal to me, so I can't envision using it for more than an item or two in any given room. That being said, everyone deserves to feel like royalty in their own home, right? So luxe it up!
VELVET ISN'T A FIBER.
What the heck do I mean? Well, I MEAN that velvet is a structure of fabric, but can actually be composed of a range of different fibers - with the most traditional being silk. Crazy, I know. I always thought velvet was... well.... VELVET, a fabric all its own. But it turns out it can be made of cotton, linen, rayon, wool, you name it. No matter what the fiber though, velvet is always known for its softness thanks to its short, dense piles, making it the perfect option to cozy up your home.
Ready..... Set..... Sheen.
